ARCA: Owens Ready to Get Tricky

The Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200 at Pocono Raceway will mark Alli Owens' fourth start at the 2.5-mile speedway. Although the "Tricky Triangle" has a reputation for frustrating the most seasoned of veterans, it took Owens only two tries to finish inside the top-10. Owens feels confident that her first outing to Pocono with Venturini Motorsports will result in another strong performance.

Owens will sport the colors of IBEW 3rd District, the New Jersey Business Association and the New York Business Managers' Association on her No. 15 Chevrolet this week.

Owens Comments on Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200:

"First off, I want to thank IBEW 3rd District, the New Jersey IBEW Association and the New York Business Managers' Association for making this race possible. I wasn't scheduled to run at Pocono, but they stepped up and I can't wait to hit the track. I'm really excited that they believe in me and our race program. Now, I'm focused on giving their colors a good run and bringing them to the front of the pack.

"I love racing at Pocono (Raceway) because the track is so unique. The corners are mostly flat and remind me of the short tracks that I grew up racing on. Turn 3 handles a lot like a road course. The frontsretch is gigantic and you use your superspeedway drafting skills. There are so many different aspects of the track that it tests all of your driving abilities. You can't be a one-dimensional driver and do well there. All of your skills come into play at Pocono. That's why it's so much fun to race there.

"I'm really looking forward to it. I think my experience there last year, being able to do really well, has made Pocono one of my favorite tracks. I know my crew chief, Jeff McClure, and I have been working really well together and he's going to have a car ready to race to the head of the pack."
