New Venue For WRC Acropolis Rally 2009

The Organising Committee of Acropolis Rally 2009 has decided that next year’s event will be hosted by the town of Loutraki.

Following the finish of the 2008 WRC Greek round, the Organising Committee appïached 5 towns that could meet the requirements of Acropolis Rally, namely (Itea, Kamena Vourla, Lamia, Loutraki and Halkida).

The plan proposed by Loutraki prevailed as the most complete.

The town’s geographical location played an important factor in this decision. Loutraki is located approximately 85 km west of Athens and 120 km from the Port of Patras.

The HQ and the Media Centre will be based at the Club Hotel Casino Loutraki, located on the sea side, at the entrance of Loutraki, approx. 5 km from the Athens – Corinth – Patras National Road. The Service Park is in a walking distance from the HQ.

It should be noticed that Loutraki authorities, headed by the Mayor, Mr. George Gionis, visited Rally RACC 2008 in order to experience the atmosphere and the needs of a WRC round.
