Panasonic Toyota Racing To Hit The Streets Of Rotterdam

The streets of Rotterdam in the Netherlands will ring to the sound of Formula 1 this weekend when Jarno Trulli demonstrates a TF107 for Panasonic Toyota Racing at the Bavaria City Racing event on Sunday.

Just one week before the European Grand Prix on the new street circuit in Valencia, Jarno will be back behind the wheel of a TF107 on a 2.2km track through the centre of Rotterdam.

The spectacular downtown lay-out gives fans a superb chance to see a Formula 1 car close up, with Jarno crossing the Willemsbrug bridge and passing some of the city's most recognisable landmarks on Coolsingel before the track loops back on itself at Hofplein.

Panasonic Toyota Racing will also be part of a Formula 1-style paddock area which will be open to VIPs on Sunday, giving a Grand Prix atmosphere and the chance to see the team working close up.

Jarno will hit the track three times during the course of the afternoon, with two three-lap demonstration runs planned in addition to an installation lap.

He says: "It's very exciting to get the chance to show everyone in Rotterdam what Formula 1 is all about. Driving through the centre of the city will certainly be spectacular to watch and very exciting for me as the driver too. I expect it to be a great show and it will really build the anticipation for the street race in Valencia. I have never driven at this event in Rotterdam before but I won the Monaco Grand Prix a few years ago so I think I can manage!"

As well as the action on Sunday, Panasonic Toyota Racing has plenty to offer fans on Friday and Saturday.

The team will take part in the interactive Race Salon display over two days at Ahoy Rotterdam when fans will be able to look behind the scenes of a simulated Formula 1 pit lane while cars from Toyota's illustrious motorsport past will be on show, including a GT-One sportscar and Toyota Corolla WRC.

Also this weekend, Timo Glock, fresh from equalling Panasonic Toyota Racing's best Formula 1 result with second in the Hungarian Grand Prix, will be in action in Monterey, California.

Timo joins the Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races presented by Toyota at Laguna Seca, where he will demonstrate the IMSA championship-winning Toyota Eagle Mark III sportscar while also taking part in the Toyota Race of Legends in a Scion tC sport coupe.

Then the team will regroup in Valencia for the European Grand Prix, where it aims to extend its advantage in fourth place in the Constructors' Championship.
