Citifinancial To Sponsor Four NASCAR Races With No. 38 Yates Racing Ford

CitiFinancial announced today that it will sponsor the Yates Racing No. 38 Ford Fusion and driver David Gilliland in four NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races beginning at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, Aug. 17. The No.38 will also sport the CitiFinancial and Citi paint scheme at Fontana, Richmond and Texas.

"We are thrilled to team-up with Yates Racing, and with a driver like David," said Mary McDowell, President and CEO of CitiFinancial North America. "This partnership expands our presence in racing, building on our successful Nationwide Series program, and enables us to reach even more customers and engage even more employees in the excitement of NASCAR. David’s had some great runs this year, and we are looking forward to rooting him on!"

"This is another great sponsor for our Yates Racing organization," stated Gilliland. "Doug Yates has had a relationship with CitiFinancial since the 2004 season. This is a great partnership for our Yates Racing team and I’m honored that CitiFinancial has chosen to be the primary sponsor of our No. 38 team for four races." After 21 races, Gilliland has completed 95% of the total laps, achieved one Top-5 and two Top-10 finishes this season and currently sits 26th in the driver point standings for the Sprint Cup Series.

The No. 38 CitiFinancial Ford Fusion will premiere on Sunday, August 17th for the 3M Performance 400 at Michigan International Speedway. Coverage of the 3M Performance 400 is scheduled to begin at 1:00p.m. EST on ESPN and will also be broadcast on the Motor Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio ch. 128.
