3M Car Care Garage Gets Fans Up Close And Personal With Celebrity Cars


Want to see the hot rides and cool cars of stars like LeBron James, Dale Earnhardt, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart and Greg Biffle up close and personal? Car fanatics will have that chance when 3M brings the 3M Car Care Garage to the Food Lion AutoFair at Lowe's Motor Speedway in early April. 3M Car Care was named the exclusive sponsor of the 3M Car Care Garage (Nationwide Garage) during for the Food Lion AutoFair at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Recognized as the "world's largest automotive extravaganza", the AutoFair is held twice a year. The event, scheduled for April 3 - 6, 2008, is expected to attract more than 160,000 visitors.

During the four-day event, visitors to the 3M Car Care Garage will see demonstrations of the technology and innovation found in the professional applications of 3M products, learn more about the DIY projects they can do on their own vehicles and also try out and purchase 3M Car Care products.

The 3M Car Care Garage will showcase 60 to 80 celebrity and antique automobiles from a wide range of stars. The 3M Car Care Garage also will feature an environmentally friendly Mean vs. Green theme with radical, high-horsepower machines shown alongside several environmentally friendly vehicles. The mean machines will be highlighted by six massive creations from the Blastolene Brothers, including a 1928 Studebaker President powered by a1,800-horsepower tank engine. A display of historic drag racing vehicles also is planned.

The Food Lion AutoFair will include a car show featuring various makes and models from 50 car club displays; thousands of parts and memorabilia vendors; a gigantic flea market; unusual attractions and a collector car auction conducted by Tom Mack. More than 1,500 collectible vehicles of all makes and models will be available for sale or trade in the car corral that rings the 1.5-mile superspeedway.

The Food Lion AutoFair at Lowe's Motor Speedway will be held April 3 - 6 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Sunday. Adult tickets are $10 per day with children 12 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets for the Food Lion AutoFair can only be purchased at the gate on event days. Parking for the event is $5.
