Galaxy Forward to Undergo Surgery
Los Angeles Galaxy forward Nate Jaqua will undergo minor surgery on Thursday to repair a fractured right wrist. Despite undergoing the procedure less than 24 hours before the club flies to Dallas for its game against FC Dallas on Saturday, Jaqua will be available for selection by Galaxy head coach Frank Yallop.
Jaqua initially suffered the injury in Saturday night’s 0-0 draw with D.C. United but managed to play the full 90 minutes in that contest. The 25-year old U.S. international is in his first season with the Galaxy after having been acquired by the club in December from Toronto FC.

Dr. Steve Shin will perform the procedure on Thursday morning at the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles. Following the surgery, Jaqua will wear a cast on his right wrist but he will be able to accompany the rest of the team to Dallas on Friday afternoon ahead of Saturday’s game.
Despite joining Chris Albright (torn right hamstring), Gavin Glinton (sports hernia), Alan Gordon (left foot stress fracture), Quavas Kirk (plantar fasciitis), Troy Roberts (right hip surgery) and Ian Russell (right hamstring strain), on the Galaxy injury report, Jaqua is still expected to feature against the Western Conference leading FC Dallas on Saturday.
In addition to the six aforementioned players who are unavailable through injury, the Galaxy are also without Landon Donovan, Kevin Harmse and Ante Jazic, each of whom are representing their country at the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup which begins this week.
