American Defender Helps Watford FC to Win

American defender Jay DeMerit helped lead English second-tier side Watford FC to a 3-0 win against Leeds United in the playoff that would determine which of the two teams would be promoted into the English Premier League.

DeMerit, who hails from Wisconsin, struck in the 24th minute, on Sunday (May 21), to get one past Leeds goalkeeper Neil Sullivan.
