Fabrizio Del Monte Joins HVM Racing
HVM, a competitor in the Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford, today announced Fabrizio Del Monte of Italy as the driver of the #4 HVM/Ford-Cosworth/Lola for the remainder of the 2005 season.

Del Monte, 24, will make his debut with HVM Racing next week when he completes a two- day test, beginning Monday October 3rd. “We are pleased to welcome Fabrizio to the team, we intend to give him a very good car and our best efforts for him to excel in the Champ Car World Series,” said owner and managing director, Keith Wiggins. He continued, “We have worked hard with Bjorn to make him comfortable in the car and this showed in his strong performance in Las Vegas. He is a talented driver but there was not the budget to retain him. I am sure his future will include continued success in Champ Cars – perhaps with HVM.”
Del Monte made his Champ Car debut at the 2005 season opener, driving for Jensen Motorsports at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. He began racing go-karts in his native Italy at the age of 13. His professional open wheel racing experience includes success in the European F3000 Championship, a test in 2003 with the Minardi F1 team and several podium finishes in both the European and Italian Formula Renault Series.
