Jason Bowles will drive the No. 39 Ford for Go Green Racing, running with sponsorship partners Sunrise Ford and Best Way Disposal. It will be the driver's first career appearance at the 0.533-mile high-banked oval; however, his experience in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West was rich in short track racing.
An Ontario, California native, Bowles began racing at the age of eleven, progressing through the karting ranks and annually winning regional, state and series championships. He made the transition into stock cars when he began racing late models at Irwindale Speedway, before making his move into NASCAR's touring divisions.
Bowles debuted in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West 2007, winning twice, finishing third in the championship standings and earning Rookie of the Year honors. The following season, Bowles scored four wins and finished second in the points, then in 2009, with three wins and 10 top-fives, Bowles took the series championship in the No. 6 SunriseFord.com Ford.
At the end of the 2009 season, Bowles was offered a chance to compete in the No. 61 Specialty Racing Ford at Phoenix International Raceway, where he experienced a strong start but got caught up in a late race incident, relegating him to a 31st place finish.
"I'm definitely looking forward to the race at Bristol Motor Speedway," said Bowles. "I want to thank Sunrise Ford, my sponsor from last year, because they're helping me out again this year. I also have to thank Archie St. Hilaire, the owner of Go Green Racing, for allowing me the chance to go to Bristol and make my 2010 debut. My goal at this point is to make the most of every opportunity, and hopefully this race goes well and we'll get out of there with a decent finish."
The Scotts Turf Builder 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway will air live on ABC on Saturday, March 20. Coverage begins at 2:00 p.m. ET, and the green flag will wave at 2:30 p.m. ET.
