Maxwell spent 2006-2009 playing with Serie A League Champions Internazionale Milan. As a member of the Nerazzurri he also claimed the Italian Supercopa in 2007 and 2008. The Brazilian began his professional career domestically with Cruzeiro before signing with Dutch powerhouse AFC Ajax in 2001. With Ajax he won two Eredivisie league titles (2002, 2004), two KNVB Cups (2002, 2006) and two Netherland Super Cups (2003, 2006).
Hernrique returns to Barça after spending the 2008 season on loan with German Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen. Henrique began his 2008 season with Brazilian side Palmeiras where he won the Sao Paulo State Championship. The Brazilian defender launched his career with Coritiba in 2006. He appeared 56 times for the Brazilian side, winning the Brazilian Serie B championship in 2007. In March of 2008 he received his first call-up to the Brazilian national team.
Both players started preseason training along with the rest of the Barça squad on Monday, July 20.
